Every LessonCrest book follows the same steps

Step 1 is at the front of the book and step 7 is at the back. Steps 2 to 6 repeat in every module. Books for younger learners and books for older learners use different names for the same steps.

What’s inside every book

  1. Readiness check

Before the first module. It ends in a table that points to a starting page instead of giving a score.

  2. Short modules

Each module teaches a single idea: a short explanation, a worked example, practice with help that gets smaller, practice alone, and a look back.

  3. Checkpoints

The last page of each module. Its table points back to a page to revisit, or on to the next module.

  4. Mixed review and exit check

After the last module, questions that mix ideas from different modules, then a last check.

  5. A page to fix a mistake, then a page to try again

The learner picks a missed question and repairs it, then tries fresh questions of the same kind.

  6. Answers and explanations

The answer key at the back has notes labeled Why, Common mistake and Help, so an adult can talk a mistake through with the learner.
